ChallengeEven though they’d been graduating successful students for decades, HTC’s website didn’t have the same success resonating with their wide range of visitors. They needed to reach prospective students, current students, alumni and supporters, faculty and staff, and business partners, with one streamlined website. Olive would need to design responsive website experience to appeal to new perspectives and mobile technology preferences. The new site would then need to be seamlessly integrated into HTC’s existing content management system.
StrategyOlive first developed a detailed understanding of HTC’s critical audiences and messages, developing a strategic set of website objectives through town hall-style meetings with the HTC team and a wealth of key stakeholders. From there, our team developed a content outline, website architecture, streamlined navigation, and UI designs that would serve as the foundation of modern site that would intrigue and engage targeted visitors. After HTC approved the design of their new site, Olive built responsive front-end templates to be implemented within HTC’s existing framework.
ResultsFollowing the site launch, students and staff touted the virtues of the new site, and it won GOLD for best website in the prestigious 2015 Paragon Awards, which recognize outstanding communications efforts at community and technical colleges. The new site would act as a gateway for prospective, current, and former generations of students, faculty and staff, and partners, to engage in the unique HTC experience online.
Working with Olive & Company was exciting and fun. They’re an incredibly talented group and I would recommend them for any interactive digital communications project, because they’re uber-professionals, and above all, they work to meet their client’s needs.
