The Client

SmartSense by Digi provides remote temperature monitoring solutions for healthcare, grocery, food service, convenience, education, and supply chain clients. By combining innovative IoT tools with data-driven solutions, SmartSense helps businesses improve procedures, reduce loss, and ensure compliance.

The Challenge

Having previously worked with Digi on a separate website project, we began working directly with the SmartSense team in 2019. Initially, we helped manage their website and digital advertising campaigns. As our partnership grew, we also developed personas and journey maps for SmartSense. 

Although our brand work provided audience clarity, and our campaigns generated traffic and leads, the existing SmartSense website had become a hindrance to their marketing and sales efforts. The site was split across multiple platforms, which made it difficult to make necessary content and site structure changes. It was also becoming clear, based on user behaviors, that site visitors were getting lost in too much information. SmartSense needed to simplify their story, and they needed to do it in a manageable, consolidated website experience.

The Solution

Once the SmartSense team selected Hubspot as their website platform, we began our work by analyzing their current site and auditing site content. Informed by these insights, we reimagined their site architecture and content strategy to highlight the value of the SmartSense platform across all industries and allow users to drill down from there. For the visual design, we refreshed the existing brand to create the feel of a modern SaaS experience. We then facilitated a thorough design hand-off process to equip the SmartSense development team with everything they needed to ensure a successful site build and launch. 

After the site launched in 2021, SmartSense saw an opportunity to provide temperature monitoring solutions for COVID-19 vaccine storage. With the help of the new, scalable website platform, SmartSense was able to quickly roll out COVID-19 solutions information. Our team was also able to pivot their digital ad campaigns to support these efforts.
