NexTech Academy is a comprehensive, online technical training program for residential electrical, HVAC, and plumbing technicians currently offered to Nexstar Network members. It was created as an online, self-paced training program that would help Nexstar members develop the workforce they need. Not only an online platform for trade skills, but NexTech Academy is also an essential tool that helps business owners in talent recruitment.
The challenges facing NexTech Academy was to increase enrollment, assist electrical, HVAC, and plumbing employers to recruit technicians— especially among non-traditional audiences—and positively shape perceptions about choosing the skilled trades as a career path. Additionally, while NexTech Academy is a creation of the Nexstar Network, it needed to establish its own identity.
Olive developed a brand platform that clarified the NexTech Academy brand position and message. It included audience personas and journey maps that plotted the various audiences from awareness to advocacy. The brand platform allowed NexTech Academy to formulate compelling stories that resonated with audiences. Next, Olive built a digital presence. It included a website experience with SharpSpring integration to educate, nurture, and convert visitors into students. As part of the web development plan, Olive implemented a platform that would easily support ongoing digital marketing efforts. Finally, to attract potential students, Olive deployed a paid digital campaign that connected messaging to the audience at key moments of interest.
