The site design would have to accommodate a great deal of content across a range of topics from internal and external contributors. A fact that complicated the site structure. Additionally, the content management system had to be simple enough that the Taste of General Mills editorial team could easily manage the content with little to no ramp-up time.


Collaborating closely with the General Mills team, we completely redesigned and rebuilt the site while retaining the existing WordPress framework. The end result was a dramatic shift from the previous traditional blog format. Big visual elements, a color-coded category structure, and a rotating story grid on the homepage and category pages lent a much more modern and dynamic look and feel to the site.


After a successful launch, the redesigned blog achieved the client’s goals. The blog’s improved overall organization and design drew visitors into the content, increasing user engagement beyond expectations.
