We took a turn in the RIGHT direction!
by Erik

Olive and Company has moved! With just a right turn and a two-minute drive from our old home in Nordeast, you’ll end up at our new pad in historic St. Anthony Main. Our worldwide headquarters now sits comfortably in the heart of the Minneapolis Riverfront District, with a spectacular view of the Minneapolis skyline and, of course, the mighty Mississippi. In fact, if you’re feeling as adventurous as our buddy Olive (in the image above), you could just hop on a homemade raft and float down the river from our old space right up to our new front door!
Throughout the renovation process, we’ve imprinted our brand on the new space. Each detail — from the polished concrete floors, to the original stone walls, to the warm lighting and the sofa-filled meeting area — matches our studio’s personality and working style, and we’ll undoubtedly continue to refine this studio to make sure it lives up to our standards for as long as we’re here. (The next big move is currently scheduled for the second week of August, 2034).
We’ve spent a large chunk of the last seven years within the friendly and spacious confines of the Grain Belt Bottling House, and, even though we’re only a couple of minutes away, we already miss our friends from the old neighborhood. Establishing relationships has always been at the heart of everything we do at Olive and Company, and we’re thrilled to have an opportunity to meet new people and become a part of the St. Anthony Main community, just as we did in Nordeast.
So, if you happen to be in the neighborhood — catching a matinee at the St. Anthony Main Theater, enjoying some lunch at Aster Cafe or Pracna, or cruising across the Stone Arch Bridge on the local Segway tour — stop in and say hi! We still have a few boxes to unpack, and we don’t have any Segways, but we’ll give you the grand tour anyway. And, unlike our previous space, we now have fully-functional air conditioning, so there’s very little chance of suffering heat stroke.
A Special Thank You
Our dear friends Greg Kagan and Julie Bennett sent the following poem to us after learning about our move, and I must say that it captures the entire process quite beautifully. Thanks Greg and Julie!
To Olive & Company on the Occasion of Your Move
In 2010 did Olive Co.
A move to newer digs assay
And did, indeed, like ancient Huck,
Load up a raft (or maybe truck)
And move on down the way.
The gang moved to the riverfront
A spot they call St. Anthony
Nearby the Isle of Nicollet
With ev’ry table and diskette,
Each chair, desk, and settee
Their goal, to make the space their own,
They sought through renovation grand.
They gutted all that was before—
The ceiling, windows, walls, and floor—
And freshness did demand.
In space Stone Arch once occupied
The wrecking ball was freely flung.
On left and right the old was crushed;
All vestiges away were brushed
As sledgehammers were slung.
The building up is what came next,
A task that just might sound like fun,
But is, in fact, the kind of work
Designed to drive the sane berserk
Before it’s halfway done.
The good news is, it’s now complete;
At least that’s what we last have heard.
The leasing papers all are signed,
The brewery’s been left behind,
And tasks have been incurred.
The real work can now resume,
From strategy to web design,
So spread to word throughout the land
To all who know the Olive Brand,
The kids are doing fine!
Congratulations now we send
Upon the move to your new space.
We hope it makes you all creative.
Do fit in, but don’t go native.
Just enjoy the place.
Best wishes,
Greg Kagan & Julie Bennett
